2. JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the safety and security of all stakeholders, assets, and premises by leading and managing the security team effectively. The Security Team Leader enforces protocols, fosters team development, and ensures seamless coordination of security operations, maintaining a safe and secure environment through proactive leadership and swift decision-making.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Lead and supervise daily operations of the security team, ensuring discipline, professionalism, and adherence to job responsibilities and schedules.
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate security risks effectively.
  • Oversee incident management, ensuring prompt reporting, resolution of security breaches, and maintaining detailed incident logs.
  • Mediate disputes or conflicts among employees, visitors, and guests in a professional and impartial manner.
  • Respond swiftly to alarm activations, investigate causes, and reset systems while minimizing disruptions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all security protocols, processes, and site-specific rules and regulations by team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth coordination during emergencies by responding effectively and issuing clear instructions to manage critical situations.
  • Identify training needs, coordinate relevant programs, and conduct awareness sessions to enhance team competency and preparedness.
  • Maintain constant communication with supervisors and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of security operations.
  • Oversee the proper maintenance and utilization of security tools, equipment, and systems, ensuring functionality and readiness.
  • Prepare and submit detailed periodic reports, including incident analyses and actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve security processes by implementing best practices and adopting Total Quality Management (TQM) principles.

  • Comprehensive understanding of security systems, patrolling techniques, and emergency protocols.
  • Familiarity with local security regulations and statutory laws applicable to the role.

  • Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment, communication devices, and other security tools.

  • Expertise in conducting fire drills, implementing evacuation plans, and adhering to safety protocols.

  • Ensure consistent enforcement of site-specific rules, regulations, traffic controls, and operational procedures to maintain order and safety.
  • Monitor the security team's compliance with grooming standards, conduct policies, and other professional benchmarks.
  • Equip the team with the necessary training in fire safety, first aid, and evacuation protocols to enhance readiness for emergencies.
  • Respond efficiently to alarm activations, conduct investigations to determine causes, and manage system resets as required.
